Twenty cards in the Q Cards deck are Special Cards, focused on the study of word elements and words that are easily confused.

Word Element Cards
It's important to have a basic knowledge of word elements because no study system can anticipate every word you may need to know. The first 14 cards in the Q Cards deck display 126 word elements (i.e., roots, prefixes, and suffixes). Each word element is printed on the front of the card and defined and used in an example on the back. Knowing the meaning of the elements displayed allows you to make an educated guess about words not included in the deck and helps you define those in the deck as well.




Words Easily Confused
Six cards in the Q Cards deck display 18 pairs of vocabulary words that are often confused because of similarities in spelling or pronunciation. Any confusion you may experience regarding these words is readily eliminated when you study them together.
